Toyoko Inn Yamagata-Eki Nishi-Guchi

Consistency. You always know what to expect when booking a Toyoko Inn. I will say, this particular one has a nice lobby and above average breakfast and beds. There is nothing particularly bad but it is what it is. A business hotel. The price is right as long as your expectations match. Good proximity to station.

You always know what to expect when booking a Toyoko Inn. A single, super congested elevators for all guests to use. A barebones breakfast experience.

Warm and welcoming staff! Special mention to Ms Niwa who was very patient and accommodating all throughout our stay. The location is also very good since it is walking distance to the station, Kajo park and the Catholic church.

Not much variety on food for breakfast. Coin laundry dryer cannot handle a relatively good number of clothes

Onsite parking for 500 yen. The room seemed new - it was very clean, modern and comfortable.Excellent location and included a good Japanese style breakfast with plenty of choice.We were able to wash and spin dry some clothing for a very reasonable cost.Courteous and efficient staff at reception.Excellent ? stay.

The room is too.small for 2 people.even it's twin room. But it's Toyoko Inn.

The breakfast was better than expected. The location was very good as it was near the train station and some eateries, with the well-stocked AEON supermarket just opposite the road. The room was quite spacious. I would stay here again.

Great location. Aeon is right across the street. Yamagata station is about 7 minutes walking.Breakfast included in price. Decent choice of food available.

Comfy, clean room, that exceeded our expectation. We had a good view of the town from the 9th floor. Staff were friendly and accommodating

Well located near the station but is on the west side where it’s a bit of a ghost town. All the restaurants are a 5-10 minute walk on the other side of the station

Very close to the station, decent sized room, very cheap and free breakfast!

No complaints, we were stopping over in the way to Zao and it was perfect.

Good size of room, free breakfast, very friendly staffs and good location. There is Max value store opposite the hotel.

WiFi is not strong enough

The breakfast is jummy and traditional Japanese. The rooms are very spacious and clean.

The area of Yamagata is not that interesting however it’s close to a large 24h supermarket and the station.

It was close to the train station and beside a 24H supermarket. Very convenient for food and travel. The free breakfast provided had a home cooked meal feeling to it. It was very good.

They didn’t provide bath salt, but this is a personal preference.

We stayed only 1 night here just to get to Ginzan Onsen. It was another typical Toyoko Inn, small but comfortable and clean. Again we could push the two beds in our twin room together and form a bed larger than a standard king sized bed. Breakfast was the typical Toyoko Inn fare - buffet style with rice, fried noodles, rice balls, salad, some cooked dishes like tamago, lotus roots, sausages (the same type at all the Toyoko Inns we stayed in), scrambled eggs, etc. We also had some grilled fish dishes like salmon and mackerel, which was quite yummy, as well as the ubiquitous natto. Everything was good and it was a good one night's stay.

The room that we stayed was clean I think it was just renovated.

Super close to Yamagata eki so very convenient for transport purposes. The room itself was a standard business hotel room so nothing special, but it was comfortable and had radiator heating so it didn't get cold while I was out. Having a double bed in a hotel this cost-effective was a nice change, too. The free breakfast was nice - a selection of 8-10 dishes to choose from, with rice or onigiri, and always miso soup. Toast options if you don't want a Japanese-style breakfast. The breakfast ladies were super friendly and there were takeaway containers if you wanted to take your breakfast to your room - which was a nice option because sometimes it was a bit awkward sitting at the breakfast tables in the lobby.

Front desk staff were a bit cold; directed me to the self-check in machine but didn't really acknowledge me for the rest of my visit.

Beautiful view and lighting in the room. This hotel is more environmentally aware, and does a child sponsorship program I think. Breakfast was pretty good!

Everything, near the station, just 5 mins of walking, nice room, with breakfast, easy checkin checkout, they help to keep our luggage for early checkin and out
